Send us a text

In this Episode we talk to Max Athorn, Diploma Programme coordinator at Thomas Edison High School in Minneapolis.

Max explains the nuts and bolts of how the IB Diploma Programme works including the six subject areas and the core of the DP: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity Activity, Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay (EE).

Max also talks about how the role of Diploma Programme coordinator is a multi-faceted, multi-layered role. DP coordinators are at the center of many aspects of the culture of their school. In this capacity, the DP coordinator must navigate a course ensuring all students are welcome and encouraged to take on academic and personal challenges.

More information about the IB Diploma Programme can be found on the IB website.
